The MIT Museum is committed to continuously expanding online access to our collections.īeta version of our new collections portalĪlmost 46,000 object records, including the Haffenreffer-Herreshoff nautical collections, are now available on the beta site of the Museum’s online collections portal. The MIT Museum collections support research, publication, restoration, education, public programs and exhibitions. The collections reflect the diverse interests of the MIT Community from the Institute's founding in 1861, to current cutting edge research. The Museum houses rich and diverse collections of art, artifacts, prints, rare books, technical archives, drawings, photographs and holograms dating from the 7th century BCE to today. Some MIT projects may be possible MIT students, faculty, and staff should complete this form to contact MIT Museum Collections staff. This includes all non-MIT loans, image and film reproduction requests, outside research visits, classes, and tours. The MIT Museum Collections remain closed through summer 2022 due to COVID as well as collections moves in preparation for the opening of the new MIT Museum at Kendall. ![]()
